This quote (may he rest in peace) comes out of my mouth often. It’s about empathy, understanding, and not rushing to judgment. I always say it to my kids and remind myself when someone is frustrated and vocal.
In my previous life as a graphic designer and art director, I worked in food packaging and labeling for agricultural products. Daily, I was on the receiving end of frustration from growers and marketers who were confused and stressed over labeling guidelines and operational compliance. The information was hard to find and difficult to understand. My team was dedicated to creating resources for customers and colleagues. The result was organized, comprehensive information that made labeling, shipping, and packaging products a much less stressful experience.
My empathy education came from our growers back then, so when the business expanded to create a much-needed digital platform for agriculture, I jumped right in. As a part of the UX team, I learn something new each day about the human experience and how important it is to create valuable and effective products. In the industry, ag life and home life intersect, so I’m honored to have the opportunity to improve the work-life balance for our growers.
In my spare time, I’m in my sewing space rescuing clothing, bags, and textiles bound for the landfill. But more on that if we meet!
Thank you for getting this far on my site and taking the time to read. Peace.
